  • Vlog-style videos on the low-power aspect of OLED laptop displays are also being released

A series of videos created by Samsung Display, the world’s largest display manufacturer, to look at the technological excellence of OLED laptop displays is on its way to going viral worldwide.

Samsung Display has produced four videos covering all of the major features of OLED displays  for laptops and has posted them on the company’s YouTube channel once a week since January 4th. So far, the total YouTube view count for the series has reached 429K views. This is in addition to 6.38M views on Weibo, the well-known Chinese social media.

The first in the four-video series, titled ‘Superior Image Quality’, demonstrates the Samsung OLED laptop display’s wide color gamut and extremely life-like image quality.

The second video clip, ‘Eye Friendly’, describes OLED’s unique technologies, which deliver faster response times and sharply decrease the long-term effects of blue light. Both the response time and the lowered blue light emissions are crucial advantages for consumers who watch movies or play games on their laptops.

Next, the third video, titled ‘Sleek Design’, introduces Samsung OLED’s extremely slim bezel, ultra-thin design and exceptionally light weight, all of which help to increase a laptop’s overall design elegance and improve laptop portability. The last video in the series takes a look at what Samsung Display has in store for laptop OLED display panels in the future, such as sliding and rollable displays.

To further meet market expectations about the laptop OLEDs that Samsung Display has rolled out since the end of January, the company is in the process of filming another series of five vlog-style videos that provide tips to consumers about saving laptop battery life and extending usage time. The vlogs explain in layman’s terms specifically why OLED laptops are considerably more power-efficient than LCD laptops.

According to Samsung Display, “This year, we are expecting the OLED laptop market to grow at least fivefold year-over-year.” He added, “Samsung Display intends to expand an aggressive marketing campaign this year and next, in collaboration with some of its global customers, to more fully emphasize the advantages of OLED-enhanced laptops to consumers worldwide.”
