The world's largest consumer electronics show, CES 2025, which took place from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas, USA, ended in great success with more than 140,000 visitors and 4,800 companies from 166 countries. With the theme “DIVE IN,” CES 2025 introduced various future technology trends such as artificial intelligence, mobility, and healthcare. Under the theme of “Every DAi, OLED-Ai,” Samsung Display received huge attention from domestic and global media by introducing various new form factor products that provide a glimpse of future IT devices. Let's explore the Samsung Display’s exhibition, where you can experience the future of display technology.

What is the secret behind the dancing robot dog, OLEDog?

At this exhibition, Samsung Display has prepared six different themes to showcase a variety of innovative products.

The first thing that catches your eye when you enter the booth is the robot dog, OLEDog. These robot dogs were developed by Samsung Display Vietnam (SDV) to patrol an unmanned factory. In the 'RoboPaw Challenge' zone, OLEDog showed off its impressive tap-dancing and jumping skills to music on the foldable panels on the floor. It also demonstrated the toughness and durability of foldable OLEDs by kicking the thin, lightweight foldable panels hanging in the air. OLEDog with round eyes made of circular OLEDs performed dazzling dances and tumbles, and was the star attraction of this exhibition.

When AI meets OLED, we all become experts!

The ‘IT’s OLED’ zone is a place where you can directly experience the enhanced performance of IT devices that have evolved further through the integration of AI and OLED.

At the 'Creative All-Rounder' exhibition booth in this zone, visitors can watch as a simple sketch drawn by a robotic arm evolves into a more sophisticated design through AI. This AI-generated artwork is displayed on OLED screens with vivid image quality.

Samsung OLED has already been recognized for its ability to accurately reproduce colors by the global color authority, Pantone. Visitors were amazed by the color expression on OLED display in comparison to a conventional display. In an era where anyone can be a creator, Samsung OLED offers users a differentiated experience that sets it apart from traditional displays.

The 'Glory Hunter' showcased a variety of IT products for heavy gamers. The 27-inch 500Hz QHD QD-OLED monitor has the highest refresh rate among self-luminous monitors currently on the market. It is the most powerful monitor for improving your chances of winning in shooting and racing games that require fast screen switching and precise aiming. The 27-inch UHD QD-OLED monitor also has a maximum resolution of 160 PPI, providing a vivid sense of immersion when watching movies or playing games.

'Tech Tastemaker' showcased various new form factors. The '18.1-inch foldable for IT,' unveiled for the first time at this exhibition, drew significant attention. It unfolds to the size of two tablets but can be conveniently carried like a compact 13.1-inch laptop when folded. Visitors were amazed by the evolution of foldable technology.

The new Lenovo product, ThinkBook Plus G6 Rollable, uses Samsung Rollable OLED. It is normally used as a 14-inch laptop, but the display hidden under the keyboard expands to 16.7 inches on demand. Samsung Display is scheduled to mass-produce the world's first rollable OLED in April. As the world's first rollable laptop is being released, many visitors have expressed their expectations.

A trip to OLED with AI, 'Hands on AI'~

The second space, the 'Hands on AI' zone, presents the synergy of OLED and AI as a travel scenario.

This zone presents a more convenient way to enjoy travel by combining AI technology with OLED, which offers high design autonomy. OLED is not only light and clear, but also can be slidable and foldable, allowing you to carry a large screen in a small size. On top of that, combined with the rapidly developing AI technology, if real-time interpretation functions can be used on a wider screen, it will make your journey more enjoyable and convenient.

Among the various products on display, the most popular product was the 'Stretchable Display'.

The stretchable display is a type of display that can be stretched like rubber or freely deformed while returning to its original shape. It was showcased with dynamic imagery, such as a sphere symbolizing Las Vegas and a scene of a shark popping out, vividly demonstrating the display's ability to stretch in three dimensions. This innovative product received rave reviews from both domestic and global media, with many calling it "truly astonishing and groundbreaking."

In addition, numerous form factor products garnered attention, including the "Slidable Flex Duet," which can expand the screen size from 8.1 inches to 12.4 inches by pulling both sides of the tablet, the "Slidable Flex Vertical," which extends vertically from 5.1 inches to 6.7 inches, and the multi-foldable "Flex G."

In particular, the MicroLED watch was unveiled for the first time at this exhibition. Not only did Samsung Display apply LTPO(Low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) backplanes and OCF(On-Cell Film) PI(Polyimide) substrates, one of its differentiated mass production technologies, to MicroLED for the first time in the industry, but it also achieved the industry's highest level of 326 PPI resolution and 4,000 nits of brightness.

A new paradigm for automotive displays, 'Play Next Mobility'!

What will the automotive display of the future look like? In the Play Next Mobility zone, various new OLED products that can improve usability and interior aesthetics were unveiled, attracting a steady stream of visitors.

The Real Black HUD guides driving information by reflecting the image on the lower part of the black-coated windshield, using OLED embedded in the dashboard. The display function integrated into the windshield can replace the instrument panel, increasing the degree of freedom in the design of the vehicle interior. The "18.1-inch Auto Foldable" CID can bend to fit the shape of the dashboard, showcasing new possibilities for the future driving experience. The company also unveiled a vehicle-mounted UPC technology that hides the camera in the center of the display. This technology allows safe driving without obstructing the driver's view.

Samsung Display signed an MOU with Dolby Laboratories in 2024. There is also an exhibition space where you can experience firsthand the premium HDR video technology of Dolby Vision, which delivers realistic picture quality, and automotive OLEDs with outstanding picture quality.

Let's enjoy masterpieces with OLEDoS that will lead the XR era.

How would it feel to experience familiar masterpieces through XR(Extended Reality)? This is the 'Virtual Art Voyage' zone, where various famous artworks are showcased through OLED technology. Here, visitors could experience Samsung Display's OLEDoS technology, which is set to lead the XR era, in harmony with masterpieces. Through the 'Find your OLED' experience, visitors could clearly spot tiny foldable devices, watches, and other products hidden within the masterpieces, thanks to OLEDoS technology, which far surpasses the resolution of existing product lines.

A Jungle Journey with QD-OLED, 'Pixel Artistry'

The 'Pixel Artistry' zone showcased the 2025 QD-OLED displays for TVs and monitors, boasting enhanced performance and stunning clarity. Visitors were able to experience the vividness of QD-OLED in the media art space as if they were in the heart of the Amazon jungle, delivering lifelike image quality. The newly unveiled 2025 QD-OLED features advanced panel driving technology and new organic materials, achieving a peak brightness of over 4,000 nits—the highest among current OLED TVs.
