From August 7 to 9, the largest display exhibition in Korea, K-Display 2025, was held at COEX in Seoul. Under the theme “Exploring Future Lifestyles with OLED Innovation!”, Samsung Display showcased an exhibition space where visitors could experience firsthand how various OLED displays will transform future lifestyles. The Samsung Display booth was filled with excitement and energy from countless visitors—shall we take a tour together?

A Digital Dalgona Game Played with Lasers, Not Fingers!

Right at the entrance, a long line of visitors waited to try out a unique interactive attraction—the Digital Dalgona Game. Participants used panels embedded with organic photodiodes (OPDs) to neatly “cut out” the shapes engraved on the dalgona candy. Without touching the screen with a finger or stylus, they could precisely input commands using only laser light. This special Samsung Display technology, combined with the sweet treat, was a huge hit among attendees.

The Summer Sea Right Before Your Eyes! Immersive OLEDoS Experience Zone – Virtual Frontier

One of the most immersive attractions at K-Display 2025 was none other than the Virtual Frontier.

At the exhibition, Samsung Display showcased a binocular demo of its 1.3-inch, 4,000-PPI white OLEDoS. Visitors experienced highly realistic content—such as a shark approaching right before their eyes or splashing water—through the white OLEDoS binocular demo, further enhancing the sense of immersion.

The demo setup featured adjustable height, allowing everyone—from children to adults—to easily enjoy this vivid glimpse into future technology.

Also on display were the industry’s highest-resolution 1.4-inch, 5,000-PPI RGB OLEDoS and a 1.3-inch RGB OLEDoS with an impressive brightness of 20,000 nits. The latter incorporated MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology, which uses the principle of convex lenses to improve screen brightness and viewing angles. Visitors were able to fully appreciate Samsung Display’s exceptional technological prowess.

Shining Bright Like a Small Star! Micro LED for Smartwatches

Samsung Display also unveiled for the first time a 6,000-nit Micro LED for smartwatches that remains vivid even under bright indoor lighting or direct sunlight. As the brightest Micro LED among all smartwatch products introduced to date, it offered a glimpse into future displays with enhanced usability and luminous efficiency.

A curved Micro LED for smartwatches was also showcased, drawing significant attention. Its ability to deliver a sharp, clear display even in small, precision-engineered devices further heightened expectations for the advancement of microdisplay technology.

This Is How You Enjoy Art! The OLED Gallery Where Art Meets Technology

A special space that feels just like an art exhibition—this is the OLED Gallery, designed to let visitors experience Samsung Display’s outstanding picture quality.

The space was created in collaboration with two contemporary artists, Basim Magdy and Marc Dennis.

Using a wide range of products—from small OLEDs for tablets and laptops to large QD-OLEDs for monitors and TVs—the artworks showcased the strength of OLED technology in reproducing identical colors and image quality, regardless of display size.

In one corner of the OLED Gallery, visitors could enjoy a special AI-powered experience that allowed them to become the main character in a piece of art. After taking a selfie on-site, the AI transformed them into a character styled to match the artist’s unique painting technique. The transformed character then appeared against the background of the artist’s work on a QD-OLED display, making visitors feel as if they had stepped right into the painting.

How to Fully Enjoy Your Hobby in the OLED Gaming Room

Next, we stepped into a space no gaming enthusiast could possibly pass by—the OLED Gaming Room. OLED displays are highly favored by gamers for their excellent dark image reproduction and minimal motion blur. Samsung Display designed the gaming room to cater to different types of users—from heavy gamers to streamers and casual players—showcasing a variety of OLED products.

For heavy gamers who even factor display specifications into boosting their win rate, a 27-inch QHD model with a 500Hz refresh rate and a 27-inch UHD model boasting the highest pixel density among self-emissive displays were featured. Visitors enjoyed smooth motion with fast screen transitions and vivid images that heightened their sense of immersion.

There was also a dedicated space for streamers and YouTubers who need to game and chat simultaneously. Here, visitors could explore the 49-inch ultra-wide Dual QHD monitor—designed specifically for multitasking—alongside the 34-inch WQHD monitor.

In addition, OLED solutions were presented for casual gamers who prefer playing on mobile devices such as foldable smartphones, tablets, and Steam Decks. Featuring the Galaxy Z Fold7, Flex Gaming, and the 14.6-inch OLED Tab, Samsung Display showcased a gaming environment that combined high portability, quick response times, and vibrant on-screen visuals.

The Ultimate Guide to ‘Work Immersion’ – How OLED Will Transform Your Work Life

This zone showcased a variety of QD-OLED monitors in different sizes, designed to enhance focus at work. Paired with extendable displays like the Lenovo Outfold, it created a dream workspace ideal for multitasking.

Beyond the traditional workstation, the exhibition also featured IT products that boost productivity anytime, anywhere. With the Flexible Briefcase, visitors could easily set up their own personal workspace wherever they went. In addition, the Smart Speaker, an AI-based alarm clock, provided suggestions for a smarter lifestyle and a more efficient daily routine.

Also on display was a stretchable display that expands like rubber, instantly capturing the attention of visitors. This futuristic display allowed them to experience a new level of immersion when viewing important work-related content or media.

Everyday Convenience, Hands-on AI

The remarkable evolution of smartphone displays—an inseparable part of daily life—could be experienced firsthand in the Hands-on AI Zone.

Have you ever gone out on a hot summer day wearing sunglasses, only to find your smartphone screen looking dim or flickering? At this exhibition, visitors could directly compare a smartphone equipped with Samsung Display’s LEAD™, a polarizer-free OLED technology, with a conventional smartphone. Even while wearing sunglasses, LEAD™ delivered flicker-free, crystal-clear visibility from any angle, showcasing its outstanding advantage in screen legibility.

Right next to it, visitors could also explore Samsung Display’s newly introduced foldable OLED brand, MONT FLEX™, unveiled for the first time at this exhibition. The impressive durability of the much-talked-about foldable panel was demonstrated through a live folding test. Did you know that in extreme conditions of -20°C, the foldable panel can be folded and unfolded up to 60,000 times? Even more remarkable, at a room temperature of 25°C, it can endure 500,000 folds, the panel was tested and verified by the global testing, inspection, and certification company Bureau Veritas. Through this demonstration, visitors were able to once again confirm the exceptional strength of Samsung’s foldable OLED.

The exhibition also featured a dedicated space where visitors could see at a glance the key strengths of the foldable panel—such as opto mechanically flat, Narrow bezels, and a Thin and lightweight design—further reinforcing Samsung Display’s technological leadership in foldable OLEDs.

Immersive and Safe Future Driving – ‘Play Next Mobility’

In driving, displays play a crucial role in delivering both immersion and safety. Samsung Display introduced a new driving experience with its lineup of automotive QD-OLED products, elevating the traditional digital cockpit to the next level.

Here, visitors could explore Flex Magic Pixel™, a technology that helps prevent driver distraction and contributes to safer driving, as well as UDC (Under Display Camera) technology, which places the camera in the center of the instrument cluster. This positioning prevents obstructions from mechanical components like the steering wheel, improving visibility compared to conventional setups. Samsung Display continues to dedicate significant efforts to developing automotive displays that offer a safer and more convenient driving environment.

We’ve now explored Samsung Display’s cutting-edge technologies and products showcased at the largest-ever K-Display 2025. Designed to let visitors experience innovative technologies firsthand, this exhibition vividly demonstrated how displays can transform our lifestyles. Please look forward to seeing what new possibilities Samsung Display will bring to our daily lives through its next wave of display innovations!
