SEOUL, August 26, 2026 – Samsung Display is strengthening its presence in the premium automotive display market by supplying two OLED displays for Genesis’ full-size flagship GV90. The two types of OLED displays, measuring 24.6 inches and 13.2 inches, began shipping this month for the GV90, Genesis’ flagship electrified SUV.
The Cinematic Display positioned at the center of the vehicle is an expandable display featuring a 24.6-inch OLED panel that adjusts its screen size depending on the situation. While driving, occupants can view driving information, navigation and media on a 23.6-inch wide screen. When the vehicle is parked, pressing the display extension button on the center fascia raises the screen by 90mm, transforming it into a 24.6-inch display — approximately 1.7 times larger than when retracted.
Self-emissive OLED displays are generally about 30% thinner and 70% lighter than comparable LCDs, which require a separate backlight. These structural advantages make OLED ideally suited for the GV90’s pop-up display, in which the screen moves vertically. They enable the operating mechanism to be designed more efficiently within the vehicle’s limited interior space while providing greater design flexibility.
The display is also particularly well suited for movies and other video content, featuring an ultra-wide 24:9 aspect ratio and a high resolution of 3,840 x 1,440. With 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, widely used in the digital cinema industry, it delivers rich and vivid colors. The display also adopts a tandem OLED structure that stacks two organic self-emissive layers, achieving both high brightness and long lifespan while maintaining clear and stable picture quality even in bright daylight conditions.
The GV90 also features 13.2-inch OLED displays with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 on the backs of the two front-seat headrests, providing rear-seat passengers with an independent, high-quality viewing experience.
With the consistent color reproduction across the rear-seat displays and the Cinematic Display, the displays allow passengers to enjoy movies and other content with sharp, vivid OLED picture quality, while also supporting a range of work applications, such as video conferencing.
The OLED displays featured in the GV90 embody Samsung Display’s DRIVE™ automotive display philosophy, built around five core principles: Design Differentiation, Robust Reliability, Intelligent Safety, Visual Excellence and Expanded & Extendable. Building on DRIVE™, Samsung Display plans to continue introducing differentiated automotive OLED solutions and expanding the premium mobility experience.
“Samsung Display’s OLED featured in the GV90 symbolizes how premium display technology and luxury mobility can come together to create a new experience,” said Joohyung Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Display Business at Samsung Display. “Going forward, we will continue to build on the strengths of both companies to create new value for luxury mobility.”
